Working with the community, Ameren Transmission Company of Illinois plans to build a new transmission line that will help to meet the Renewable Energy Standards Missourians approved in 2008. FPA Group planned a series of six open houses in three northeast Missouri towns, to reach city officials, citizens, and landowners. The purpose of the open houses was to gather information from affected stakeholders regarding key sensitivities pertaining to the construction of the transmission. FPA Group developed a media outreach campaign including newspaper and radio advertisements promoting the public meetings and the truth about the transmission project. FPA Group also customized the public engagement campaign to include populations that are not connected to the internet such as elderly farmers and Amish communities.
